Thunderball

In 1999, five years after the main UK lotto had been introduced the national lottery introduced the Thunderball game, a new lotto game that would also be played every Saturday evening. Several years after that, in 2002, the Thunderball game was also introduced to the midweek draw. Tickets for the Thunderball game cost one pound, the same as a regular lotto ticket. And, although the jackpot is far smaller than the regular lotto, the chances of winning are much higher.

  1. Enter 5 numbers from 1 - 34 and 1 Thunderball from 1-14, or click 'Lucky Dip'.

Select 'add more lines' to play more than 5 lines.
  2. Choose the draw days and the number of weeks you wish to play
  3. Click 'PLAY NOW' to continue.

The thunderball game jackpot stands at £250,000, and there are also lots of smaller prizes to be won. You have to select five main numbers from 1 to 34 and then one separate number from 1 to 14 for the thunderball number. And just one correct main number will win you a small cash prize providing you have also guessed the thunderball number correctly. The more main numbers you guess correctly, the higher your prize. And if you also get the thunderball number, you prize is significantly higher. Those lucky enough to get all five numbers correct and get the single thunderball number correct are the lucky winners of the £250,000 jackpot.

The thunderball game draws are performed a little differently to the regular lottery. The main numbers for the thunderball game are drawn from one barrel, with a separate barrel used to draw the single thunderball number.

With a £250,000 jackpot, the thunderball game won’t make you a millionaire, but you can still win a very substantial and life changing sum of money. Because the thunderball game is a fixed prize game, there are no rollovers, but at the same time the chances of winning a prize are just 1 in 18. And with eight prize levels, you could win one of variety of cash prizes from a few pounds to hundreds of thousands.
